Changing our diet to reduce Roger's cholesterol level has had unexpected results. Not only his cholesterol levels have dropped. He has lost 20 pounds! and I've lost 10. We haven't changed our eating patterns at all .. just the content of the meals.
Oatmeal for breakfast; fish for dinner twice a week; olive oil instead of butter; lots and lots of vegetables. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada's website has been quite helpful, as has my well-thumbed copy of Bonnie Stern's More HeartSmart Cooking. Some of the recipes look pretty weird at first glance, but in fact, if they are included here, it means we've found them quite palatable.
If a title in the Index appears as a link, then the page is available. The low-fat, low cholesterol recipes have been collected in their own category, as well as in their main-ingredient or primary-meal category.
Each recipe is on a separate page which should be easy to print. To get back to the Index, use the 'Back' command on your browser.
