Crumbly Crust

Preheat the oven to 375°

Ingredients:

Method:

6 cups of prepared fruit:
sliced apples, rhubarb, berries, peaches
or a mixture of any two
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Put the prepared fruit in the bottom of a deep baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
1/3 cup flour
2/3 cup rolled oats
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup very cold butter, cut into 1 Tbsp pieces
Put the flour, oats and sugar into the food processor bowl. Lay the butter pieces on top. Gently pulse just to cut the butter into the dry ingredients. [You don't want a paste, and you don't want to cut the oats into powder]
Sprinkle this mixture over the fruit in the baking dish.
Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes, or until the fruit is cooked and the top is golden.
Serves 6 this is the closest I've ever come to reproducing my mother's recipe
