Monster Cookies

Preheat oven to 350°F.
If you can't find the rolled barley and wheat in your supermarket, try a bulk food outlet.

Ingredients:

1 lb. butter, softened
12 eggs, unbeaten
In a very large bowl (say, a dishpan) cream the butter and beat the eggs in, one or two at a time.
4 cups brown sugar
4 cups liquid honey
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 Tbsp corn syrup
8 tsp baking soda
3 lb peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
6 cups rolled oats
6 cups rolled barley
6 cups rolled wheat
1 lb chocolate chips
Optional:
1 lb M&Ms or Smarties
1 cup wheat germ, and/or bran
Mix in the remaining ingredients, in the order listed.

Drop by very large spoonsful or ice cream scoop on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with your hands or a flat plate.

Bake for 12 minutes, watching carefully as they burn easily.
When the kids were little, they loved these giant cookies, though I never made the whole recipe. You can halve the ingredients and still make a LOT of cookies.
